By Hannah Lindqvist, Mogi Research · Oct 11, 2026
Software engineer job postings in New Jersey fell 14 percent in the 28 days ending October 11, with 586 postings compared to 679 in the prior period. This contrasts with a 62 percent rise in new software engineer job postings across the US.
The fall in New Jersey postings may be due to several factors. A decrease in postings from JPMorgan Chase, which accounted for 465 of the 586 new postings in New Jersey, could be a significant contributor. It is also possible that hiring needs for software engineers in the state have been met in the short term.
Looking ahead, it will be important to monitor whether this decrease is a short term fluctuation or the beginning of a broader shift. Continued tracking of New Jersey's software engineer job market, particularly the activity of major employers like JPMorgan Chase, will provide further insight.
