How Mogi reports are made
Mogi Research publishes short reports from the job postings our crawl finds. This page says where the numbers come from, how they are checked, and what they do not show.
Where the numbers come from
Job postings on company career sites, found by Mogi's crawl each day. Each report counts open postings by day, state, country, employer and role family, and compares one period with the period before it.
How each figure is checked
Every figure in a report must match the query result it is based on. A draft with a figure that is not in the result, a claim the table does not show, or a headline that does not name its subject is rewritten or dropped. Most drafts pass after one revision.
What the numbers do not show
- Job postings are not hires. A rise in postings is not a count of people hired.
- A change can reflect what the crawl found as well as what employers did.
- Employers with fewer than five postings in the last eight weeks are left out of the rankings.
- Salaries are used only where the employer published them.
Who writes them
Each report is drafted with AI and is written in the voice of one of Mogi Research's reporters. Every report says so and shows the table it is based on.
