Solicitor - Specialist Liability (Data)

DAC Beachcroft is looking to appoint a Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive to join our Claims Solutions Group Data Breach Claims team. The Claims Solutions team advises insurers and corporate clients in their defence of claims of all values, types and complexity. Our National team whose clients are a mix of leading names in the insurance industry as well as household name corporates, deal with all aspects of defendant litigation, including complex and catastrophic injury. Increasingly, the team is getting involved in pre-emptive advice on these issues as well as dispute resolution. The Data Breach Claims team (which is part of the Claims Solution Group) works on behalf of insurance companies, investigating, defending and resolving claims for compensation arising from data breaches including claims arising from cyber-attacks. The work comprises conducting litigated and pre-litigation claims, investigating claims, giving detailed pre-emptive advice on relevant issues to clients and, where necessary, preparing a defence through to Trial. We are presently looking to recruit a suitable experienced candidate who is keen to assist and run a caseload of civil claims in this area (as well as assisting with our team’s work). Our cases vary from incidents involving the data of an individual through supporting clients in handling data subject access requests to defending multiple claims arising out of cyber incidents.
