Description of Position
GHG Corporation is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (IT Professional) to support the CMC4 Software Engineering and Development team as a full-stack software developer. This position will contribute to the design, development, testing, integration, deployment, and sustainment of mission-supporting software applications.
The ideal candidate is a strong and versatile developer who can independently deliver software solutions, collaborate effectively with customers and technical teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web-based applications and services.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and interfaces with enterprise systems and data sources.
• Work with customers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in application architecture and solution design, code reviews, troubleshooting, testing, and production support.
• Develop and maintain secure, reliable, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.
• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical discussions, and sprint reviews.
• Support source control, branching, pull requests, CI/CD, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Diagnose and resolve application, integration, database, and production issues.
• Develop technical documentation and contribute to software development standards and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced developers as needed.
• Collaborate with developers, database administrators, infrastructure personnel, cybersecurity teams, and other technical disciplines.
• Work independently with general direction and take ownership of assignments from requirements through production implementation and sustainment.
Required Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, with applicable professional experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience, preferably in a full-stack development environment.
• Strong experience with C#, .NET / ASP.NET, and RESTful API development.
• Experience with modern web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, and data-driven applications.
• Strong knowledge of source control, Git workflows, branching strategies, and code review practices.
• Experience working within an Agile software development environment.
• Understanding of software design, development, testing, integration, deployment, and sustainment practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers and technical stakeholders to define and deliver software solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary technical team.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Azure DevOps, including Boards, Repos, and Pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated builds, testing, and software deployment practices.
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications in Microsoft environments.
• Experience with SharePoint, Power Platform, Power BI, or Microsoft 365 technologies.
• Experience with application and database integrations across enterprise systems.
• Experience modernizing or migrating legacy applications and technologies.
• Experience providing technical mentorship or serving in a technical leadership capacity.
• Experience supporting NASA, aerospace, engineering, logistics, or other mission-critical environments is a plus.
