Wyetech is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer – Level 1 to support the Secure the Enterprise initiative, focused on modernizing and automating enterprise security evaluation and authorization processes within a mission-critical Intelligence Community environment.
The selected candidate will support the transition from manual system security evaluation and authorization processes to an automated, streamlined model emphasizing continuous monitoring, assessment, network data gathering, and improved operational efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
As a member of the engineering team, the DevOps Engineer will facilitate infrastructure management, continuous integration, environment configuration, and application deployment while supporting the project's compliance and security posture. This position focuses on developing and maintaining the automation, infrastructure, and deployment capabilities that enable software development and engineering teams to operate efficiently and reliably.
The ideal candidate possesses experience in at least one of the following technical areas: Linux system administration, Docker, Python scripting, AWS or cloud technologies, GitLab pipelines, Ansible pipelines, or Apache NiFi. Additional experience with cloud hosting, infrastructure automation, and Elasticsearch is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
DevOps Engineering & Infrastructure Automation
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automation solutions supporting enterprise software development and deployment.

• Facilitate infrastructure management, system configuration, continuous integration, and application deployment activities.

• Develop automation capabilities that enable engineering teams to operate efficiently and consistently.

• Support the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of development, testing, and operational environments.

• Identify opportunities to streamline manual infrastructure and deployment processes through automation.

• Troubleshoot infrastructure, configuration, integration, and deployment issues.

• Support system reliability, availability, and operational performance.

• Collaborate with software development teams to improve development and deployment workflows.

Continuous Integration & Deployment
• Support continuous integration and deployment processes across development and operational environments.

• Develop, maintain, or enhance automated build, testing, and deployment workflows.

• Support pipeline automation using technologies such as GitLab and Ansible, as applicable.

• Assist with integrating software components into new or modified systems and operating environments.

• Identify and resolve issues affecting application builds, deployments, and environment configurations.

• Recommend improvements to deployment procedures, automation standards, and development processes.

• Support software testing, validation, integration, and release activities.

• Collaborate with developers to ensure reliable software delivery.

Cloud Infrastructure & Systems Administration
• Support infrastructure management across Linux and cloud-based environments.

• Assist with configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux systems, including CentOS and Red Hat environments.

• Support containerized application environments using Docker, as applicable.

• Assist with infrastructure automation and cloud deployment activities.

• Support AWS, C2S, or other cloud environments based on project requirements.

• Evaluate infrastructure performance and recommend improvements to system configurations and deployment processes.

• Support integration of enterprise applications with existing infrastructure and operational environments.

• Maintain technical documentation related to infrastructure configuration, deployment, and automation.

Cybersecurity Automation & Compliance Support
• Support the Secure the Enterprise initiative by developing automation capabilities that improve security evaluation and authorization workflows.

• Assist with maintaining the project's compliance and security posture.

• Support infrastructure and deployment processes that enable continuous monitoring and assessment.

• Contribute to automation solutions that streamline security-related processes and approvals.

• Support system configurations and operational practices that align with customer security requirements.

• Troubleshoot technical issues affecting system operations and automated workflows.

• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to improve infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.

Software Engineering & Technical Collaboration
• Analyze user and system requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.

• Design, develop, modify, and maintain software components supporting automation and system functionality.

• Debug existing software and correct identified defects.

• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments.

• Develop scripts, utilities, and software enhancements supporting operational requirements.

• Assist with developing and executing software testing procedures.

• Review software components for compliance with design requirements and document test results.

• Analyze system performance, workflows, and technical requirements to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Write, review, and maintain software and system documentation.

• Recommend improvements to software development processes, technical standards, and operational procedures.

• Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and other technical stakeholders to resolve engineering challenges.

• Provide technical leadership when appropriate to the software development process.

Required Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with current Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) is required.

• Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.

• Four (4) additional years of relevant Software Engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.

• Demonstrated experience in at least ONE (1) of the following technical areas:
• Linux System Administration: Experience administering or maintaining Linux environments, including CentOS 7 or Red Hat 8.

• Docker: Experience working with containerization technologies and Docker environments.

• Python Scripting: Experience developing scripts to automate processes, manage systems, or support application operations.

• Cloud Technologies: Experience with AWS, C2S, or another cloud computing environment.

• GitLab Pipelines: Experience supporting or developing GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

• Ansible Pipelines: Experience using Ansible for automation, configuration management, or deployment workflows.

• Apache NiFi: Experience using NiFi for data integration, workflow management, or automation.

• Experience supporting software development, system integration, troubleshooting, or technical automation activities.

• Ability to analyze technical requirements and contribute to software or infrastructure improvements.

• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and support reliable system operations.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Elasticsearch, including deployment, integration, administration, or troubleshooting.

• Experience with cloud hosting and infrastructure automation.

• Experience supporting continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) environments.

• Experience developing or maintaining infrastructure automation solutions.

• Experience administering Linux environments, particularly CentOS and Red Hat.

• Experience with Docker containerization and application deployment.

• Experience developing automation scripts using Python.

• Experience with AWS, C2S, or comparable cloud infrastructure.

• Experience developing or maintaining GitLab and Ansible pipelines.

• Experience with Apache NiFi for workflow automation or data processing.

• Experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity applications and automated security assessment processes.

• Familiarity with infrastructure configuration management, software deployment, and operational sustainment.

• Experience collaborating with software development teams in Agile or DevOps environments.

Clearance Requirements
Active TS/SCI security clearance with current Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) is required.

Salary Range: $46.97 to $107.44 per hour
Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications; and geographic location. Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
