Senior Software Engineer

Location: Vilnius or Kaunas (Office-Based/Hybrid)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the evolution of the ProjectWise, a core component of Bentley’s Infrastructure Cloud platform powered by iTwin. This role is part of our Infrastructure Cloud team and will focus on delivering reliable, scalable, and high-performing cloud services that enable secure file management, synchronization, and collaboration for engineering projects worldwide.

In this role, you will combine strong technical leadership with delivery ownership, guiding a globally distributed team while ensuring the successful planning, execution, and operation of critical cloud services. You will partner closely with Product Management, UX, and engineering leadership to define priorities, drive innovation, and deliver customer value. Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and evolve scalable cloud-native services that power the ProjectWise File Service.
- Develop distributed systems using microservices, messaging, containerized workloads, and Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Ensure service reliability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence through monitoring and observability.Implement resilient architectures and fault-tolerant patterns to support highly available production services.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, and engineers on technical design and implementation decisions.
- Contribute to architectural direction and continuous improvement of cloud platform capabilities.
- Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Drive engineering excellence through high-quality code, automated testing, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Partner with globally distributed teams to deliver customer-focused solutions and meet product commitments.
- Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and technical documentation.

Qualifications:

- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering with exposure to distributed or cloud based systems.
- Strong experience with Azure, microservices, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Hands on experience building ETL pipelines, workflow based systems, or event driven architectures.
- Solid proficiency in an object-oriented language, with a preference for C# .NET.
- Solid understanding of observability, CI/CD, reliability, and cloud operations.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to deliver production quality software.

What Makes You Stand Out :

- Experience with workflow orchestration engines (e.g., Azure Durable Functions, Temporal, Airflow).
- Knowledge of advanced data consistency patterns (e.g., Change Data Capture, event sourcing, saga patterns).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and modern CI/CD practices (e.g., Terraform, Azure DevOps).

Please note if you are employed full-time, the salary for this position ranges from 5,000 EUR gross (before taxes-Lithuania) depending on knowledge and experience.
