Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer

Location: Charlotte, NC or Irving, TX

Duration: 12 Months

Pay Rate: $55/HR (W2 Only)

Job/Role Description:

• Lead the design, development, and automation of end-to-end business intelligence and analytics solutions, with Power BI serving as the primary reporting platform.

• Develop scalable Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and reusable data assets supporting enterprise reporting and analytics.

• Automate and optimize the reporting lifecycle, including data acquisition, cleansing, transformation, validation, testing, refreshes, monitoring, error handling, and data quality controls.

• Design, build, test, and support automated ETL pipelines supporting Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards.

• Perform complex data analysis and translate large, complex datasets into actionable business insights.

• Integrate and transform data from enterprise data sources using reusable and scalable ingestion patterns.

• Integrate data through APIs and other enterprise integration methods to support reporting and analytics solutions.

• Design and optimize Power BI data models and semantic models for performance, scalability, and usability.

• Implement data quality, lineage, security, and governance controls across reporting solutions.

• Optimize semantic models, metadata, and business definitions to support AI-driven analytics and natural language query experiences.

• Enable self-service analytics through scalable reporting solutions and reusable data assets.

• Troubleshoot Power BI reports, data models, refreshes, integrations, and other reporting issues.

• Develop and support reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI and Tableau.

• Work with Microsoft SQL and enterprise databases to support data aggregation, transformation, and reporting requirements.

• Use GitHub for source control and collaboration throughout the development lifecycle.

• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.

• Work independently to identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve the efficiency and reliability of existing Power BI solutions.

• Work within an Agile/Scrum development environment.

• This position follows a hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

• This is a contract position with the possibility of conversion to a permanent role for the right candidate.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of analytics or business intelligence development experience.

• 4+ years of hands-on Power BI and Tableau experience.

• Advanced Power BI experience, including report and dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, Power Query, semantic models, and troubleshooting.

• 4+ years of experience performing complex data analysis.

• 4+ years of ETL and data integration experience.

• 2+ years of experience automating reporting, data processing, testing, refreshes, monitoring, or other analytics processes.

• 2+ years of data modeling experience.

• 2+ years of GitHub experience.

• 2+ years of API integration experience.

• 2+ years of Microsoft SQL experience.

• Experience with data validation, data quality, cleansing, transformation, and troubleshooting.

• Experience designing scalable and reusable reporting and analytics solutions.

• Strong understanding of the end-to-end data and reporting lifecycle.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

• Ability to independently manage complex development initiatives and drive solutions through completion.

• Experience working within large enterprise environments strongly preferred.

• Banking or financial services experience preferred.

• Python experience is a plus, particularly for data and process automation.
