Title and Summary

Senior Data Scientist F/T

Overview
Independently manages and manipulates large data sets and applies various technical and statistical analytical techniques (e.g., OLS, multinomial logistic regression, LDA, clustering and segmentation) to draw insights from large data sets.
Role.
• Communicates with client counterparts to ensure customer needs are being addressed when designing data analysis and technical solutions.
• Reviews and applies complex analytical techniques or tools to draw meaningful and insightful observations and trends from large/ complex data sets.
• Develops sophisticated multivariate models and analytic solutions (e.g., dashboards, prototypes), utilizing complex statistical and data science techniques and methods.
• Meets project deadlines for accountable deliverables and anticipates delays or foreseeable barriers to progress, escalating issues when necessary.
• Conducts Proof-of-Value exercises with customers and contributes toward the research and development of new machine learning-powered solutions.
• Works closely with Engineering to ensure our models are delivered into Production according to our specifications.
• Takes a Product lens to work—thinking about the customers’ value as the primary goal of everything we do.

About You
• Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Information Technology, or related and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Machine Learning Engineer, Data Engineer, or related.
• Qualifying experience must include at least 3 years with each of the following: Unix CLI, Python, SQL, Machine learning experimentation orchestration frameworks (such as MLflow), Big data processing tools and systems (such as Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.), Experience with building models related to fraud, scams, or money laundering detection, Payments ecosystem.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
