Position Information

Position Overview

The Product Manager owns the strategy, execution, and roadmap for one or more products. You work directly with engineering to understand technical constraints and tradeoffs, and you use modern tools, including AI, to prototype ideas and test concepts before committing development resources. You build and lead the roadmap for a cross-functional product team, and you represent the product externally: at conferences, in webinars, and in front of large audiences of customers and prospects.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years of product management experience, working technical fluency, and hands-on comfort using AI tools to build conceptual prototypes. You communicate clearly with engineers and executives alike, and you are comfortable presenting to a room of 50 people or a webinar audience of 500. A Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field is required. Travel of approximately 10–15% may be required to support customer relationships and attend industry events.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.

Product Strategy & Roadmap

Build and own the product roadmap for your team, balancing near-term delivery with long-term vision
Conduct customer discovery, usability research, and competitive analysis to inform roadmap decisions
Translate strategy into a prioritized backlog, using data and clear tradeoff frameworks

Technology & Prototyping

Partner with engineering to understand technical constraints, architecture, and feasibility, and factor them into product decisions
Use AI tools to build conceptual prototypes, mockups, and interactive demos that communicate ideas before engineering resources are committed
Evaluate new AI and productivity tools for ways to accelerate discovery, prototyping, and decision-making
Define and track product metrics (adoption, retention, revenue impact) and use them to guide iteration
Manage the full product lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping through launch, iteration, and sunset

Communication & Market Presence

Represent the product at conferences, webinars, and customer events, presenting confidently to large audiences
Lead product launches end-to-end, partnering with marketing and sales on positioning and messaging
Develop demos, training materials, and customer-facing content that explain the product clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

Cross-functional Leadership

Build and lead the roadmap for a cross-functional product team, aligning engineering, design, marketing, and customer success
Drive alignment across teams through influence, not formal authority
Build trust with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders as the voice of the product

Qualifications:
Requirements

3–5 years of experience in product management, with hands-on ownership of a SaaS product
Working technical fluency: comfortable discussing APIs, data, and system architecture with engineers, without needing to write production code
Hands-on experience using AI tools (for example, Claude, ChatGPT, or Figma AI) to build conceptual prototypes, mockups, or interactive demos
Demonstrated experience building and owning a product roadmap for a team
Proven public speaking experience: webinars, conferences, or large-audience presentations
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Comfortable leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority
Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field
Experience in healthcare technology or another regulated industry
Familiarity with agile development practices and working alongside engineering teams
Experience with rapid prototyping or design tools

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $89,637 - 115,000. Salary will be determined by the candidate’s level of experience and qualifications. Compensation will be commensurate with skills, relevant experience, and performance in similar roles.
