Job Details: Job Location: 9705 N BROADWAY EXT SUITE 200 - OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, Salary Range: $52061.71 - $66899.00Salary, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Admin - Clerical, Under the general direction Program Manager, the Data Analyst will collect, manage, analyze, and report program data to support project goals and ensure compliance with SAMHSA reporting requirements. This position will monitor program performance, maintain accurate and secure databases, prepare required federal reports, and develop data summaries to inform project leadership. The Data Analyst will ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of data related to first responder training, overdose response, naloxone distribution, and recovery support activities, supporting continuous quality improvement, evidence-based decision-making, and demonstration of project outcomes.
Data Collection & Preparation: Extracting raw data from databases, APIs, and spreadsheets. This involves scrubbing and preprocessing data to remove errors, duplicates, and missing values.
Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Using descriptive statistics to understand data distributions and detect hidden patterns, anomalies, or correlations.
Reporting & Visualization: Building and maintaining visual dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to track performance metrics.
Business Insights & Recommendations: Collaborating with departments (e.g., marketing, finance, sales) to understand their needs, answering ad-hoc business questions, and turning insights into actionable business strategies.
Database Management: Structuring, developing, and maintaining databases, data models, and storage systems to optimize statistical efficiency.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics or Science Degree and equal amount of work experience as a Data Analyst is required. Epidemiology or biostatistics focus preferred. Preferred background related to health information management, mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, economics, data analytics, etc.
Experience/Field: Minimum of one to three years of experience in applied epidemiology or project management.
Experience with community and tribal organizations and/or not-for-profit agencies is desired.
Experience with environmental health data is preferred.
Experience using a variety of computer programs (R/SAS software, word processors, spreadsheets and presentation software) a must.
Grant experience is desired.
Knowledge / Special Skills:
Demonstrate knowledge and skills in data linkage and the use of data sets in other epidemiological methods.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills in data quality improvement and quality assurance procedures. Must be able to apply advanced reasoning skills to problem solving and use basic and advanced mathematical skills; demonstrate professional knowledge of epidemiology/statistical research methods; and conduct epidemiological investigations of chronic and/or infectious diseases.
Must be able to design/collect/retrieve epidemiological data and perform statistical data analysis for the SPTHB Program Manger, community and tribes; and advise them of implications of the data for public health policy and determine health status outcomes to ensure that established program standards are met. Must be able to collaborate with community, tribes, tribal organizations, IHS, State health departments, federal agencies, and other agencies to coordinate and develop epidemiology and surveillance activities. Must be able to work in collaboration with other internal data teams. Implements strategies for integrating tribal health program staff into the surveillance system through development and provision of educational and skill development training pertaining to chronic and/or infectious disease surveillance.
Demonstrate ability to use epidemiological data and prepare and review reports, tables, or publications that effectively and clearly provide an effective communication of the program goals.
Specialized Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have some experience working in community public health and familiar with Indian Health laws and policies. High level experience working with a Native American Tribes or Tribal organizations desirable. Ability to identify and work with staff from tribes, tribal organizations, rural community partners, IHS, State Health Departments, federal agencies and outside agencies to coordinate and develop grant activities.
Knowledge of Health Information Exchanges (HIE)s, electronic case reporting (eCR), and the Resource Patient Management System (RPMS) are a plus.
Experience with server management and programming languages such as SQL, R/SAS, Python, etc. is strongly preferred.
