If you enjoy working with image and video data sets starting from collection through annotation, analysis, curation and evaluation, and preparing it as needed for cutting edge artificial intelligence (AI) research and development (R&D) in computer vision, signal processing, and robotics, then we would like to hear from you!
This position calls for a data specialist who is proficient in visual data collection and annotation; the ability to discover, acquire, catalog, and annotate target data sets is key. Proper data tracking and documentation skills are essential. Prior experience with image and video data sets is desired. Visual data analysis and algorithm evaluation via scripting are welcome. Familiarity with computer vision (CV) and machine learning (ML) fields is a plus. The successful candidate will join a team of computer vision scientists and engineers to participate in rewarding R&D process for image and video analysis, delivering world class solutions to our customers.

OPEN POSITION:
Data Specialist - Images/Video (Rockville, MD)
CITIZENSHIP / IMMIGRATION STATUS:
Applicant must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card).
JOB DUTIES:
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and program managers.
• Communicate with researchers to understand their data needs
• Discover, acquire and document image and video data sets
• Generate novel data sets via real and virtual image/video capture
• Annotate visual data sets for CV and ML R&D
• Transform existing annotations into alternative formats
• Evaluate CV and ML algorithms using ground-truth annotations
• Visualize and prepare evaluation results
• Maintain and backup data sets along with the meta-data and documentation
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related field
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Solid background in math and physics
• Strong written and communication skills
• Proficiency in data sets acquisition, annotation and management
• Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to cleanly and clearly present conclusions
• Experience with image and video data sets - large scale data sets is a plus
• Experience with data analysis and algorithm evaluation via scripting
• Familiarity with Python, Perl, or MATLAB
• Knowledge of proper data tracking and documentation procedures
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Proficient technical writing and strong communication skills
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming with the ability to write clean, well-documented code
