Sacred Heart University’s Business Analytics & Applied AI programs in the AACSB-accredited Welch College of Business & Technology invite applications for Adjunct Instructors committed to helping students transform complex data into meaningful insights, strategic decisions, and real business impact.
Adjunct instructors contribute professional and academic expertise to an applied, technology-driven learning environment. Courses emphasize hands-on analysis, responsible use of artificial intelligence, and practical experience with the tools shaping modern organizations. This opportunity allows instructors to prepare future analytics professionals to solve complex problems, communicate findings clearly, and guide data-driven decision-making across industries.
Undergraduate and graduate offerings include the Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics & Applied AI, Minor in Business Analytics, and Master of Science in Business Analytics & Applied AI. Programs incorporate statistical analysis, data mining, predictive modeling, data visualization, data engineering, and applied AI, supported by resources such as the AI Lab and Business Analytics Lab at SHU’s West Campus.
Undergraduate courses are generally scheduled on weekdays. Graduate courses may be offered on Saturday mornings or afternoons in hybrid or online formats.
Responsibilities:
Teach assigned undergraduate or graduate business analytics courses in accordance with established course objectives and academic standards
Create an engaging, hands-on learning environment using real-world data, business problems, and current analytical tools
Help students connect technical analysis with organizational strategy and decision-making
Provide timely feedback and maintain regular communication throughout the course
Collaborate with program leadership and faculty as appropriate
Fulfill all responsibilities associated with the assigned course
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualification pathways:
Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of relevant professional experience
Master’s degree with at least seven years of relevant professional experience
Doctoral degree earned within the past five years
Doctoral degree with recent scholarly publications
Employment is contingent upon verification of identity and authorization to work in the United States, as required by federal law.
Courses use a variety of software tools and programming languages. Experience with Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, or comparable tools should be highlighted in the application materials.
