Job Summary/Overall Objectives The Oncology Data Specialist reviews patient documentation and diagnostic information to analyze and abstract tumor data. Timely and accurate coding and staging of all cases is essential as well as the ability to identify treatment modalities utilizing specialized software. Compiles requests for data and statistics from the Cancer Registry for facility planning, administration and internal department requests according to established policies and procedures.
